WETHERCOTE FARM CAMPSITE

THE WORKING FARM

Wethercote Farm is a well established family farm producing beef and lamb and growing various cereal crops. The farm is managed by Richard and his father Terry and the family have lived and worked here for over 70 years.

At present the Farm is home to Richard and Fliss , Richard's parents Terry and Jennifer, 600 Beef cattle, 300 commercial breeding sheep, 25 Herdwick sheep, 2 farm dogs, a horse and a shetland pony and a wide variety of wildlife.

Also on site is a 2 bed holiday cottage which has been run by Jennifer for over 20 years.

Richard and Fliss opened the campsite in 2020 taking advantage of the beautiful location and scenic views as they continue to put their own stamp on the family farm.

Being located within Herriot country, Alf White (James Herriot) himself was once the farm vet and a good friend of Terry's late father and frequently visited Wethercote farm. We remain in the capable hands of local vet Peter Wright and have been lucky enough to appear on the channel 5 television series 'The Yorkshire Vet' on a number of occasions with both Peter and Julian.

The campsite is located on our working farm where you can see lots going on and can meet some of our animals at certain times of the year. You can watch the farmers working in the surrounding fields and you could catch a glimpse of the wildlife we share our land with such as roe deer, hares, buzzards and owls.
